HS-Drone Benchmark ... a starting point for evolution.

The science is definitive, it is not the "airfoil" (or wing) that makes efficient flight possible.  It is the dominance of relatively flat surfaces.  The starting point for such an evolution is a flying rectangular board (often referred to as the flying pizza box, aka FPB).  The below PDF provides the details for construction of the FPB.  The following are key points of this prototype and model.
  • The FPB is very difficult to control, as will be obvious if this FPB model is built and flown.  As science identifies, it has a tendency to flip and dive.  The solution is use of the patented hinge joint that allows use of large flat surfaces which impart stability for flight.
  • The path of evolution includes:  a) putting a delta wing front on the FPB along with gradual elimination of the tail, b) placing a hinge joint in front of the trailing rectangular section to impart stability, c) changes to further improve efficiency, and d) addition of solar power supplement.
  • The evolution has started (05/01/2022 for FPB) and steady and regular progress will proceed.
